The Council continues our response to the pandemic and its impact on immigration.

A weekly roundup from Immigration Impact

Dear Friend,

Over the past week, the spread of the coronavirus continued to have an impact beyond the bounds of public health—including on the immigration system and how our country treats immigrants.

The American Immigration Council is responding to the moment by:

•  Filing a lawsuit with partners to close the immigration courts, allow for remote court appearance instead, and guarantee secure ways for attorneys and detained clients to speak to each other.
•  Pursuing solutions-oriented alternatives to growing anti-immigration policies.
•  Demanding government transparency and accountability of policies related to the treatment of immigrants in the agencies’ custody.
•  Lifting up positive stories of immigrants who are on the frontlines fighting this virus.
•  Continuing our regular analysis of immigration developments—which you’ll find below.

Stay healthy and stay strong.
