To prevent cruelty to animals, we promote enacting and enforcing good public policies. To enact good laws, we must elect good lawmakers, and that’s why we remind voters which candidates care about our issues and which ones don’t. If you’d like to unsubscribe, click here.
JUSTICE FOR THEIA, THE WYOMING WOLF Webinar

Justice for Theia, the Wyoming Wolf

It’s Time to Restore Federal Protections for Wolves in the Northern Rockies

Please accept our personal invitation to join us Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET, for an urgent update about the wolf crisis in Wyoming, with a focus on our efforts to secure prosecution of Cody Roberts for tormenting Theia (the adolescent female wolf) to revamp Wyoming’s archaic and ruthless wolf policies. Registration information is below.

No case of animal abuse in recent memory has done more to ignite the fury of Americans and people across the world than Theia’s shocking abuse. We named her Theia, for the Greek goddess of light, and want her plight to act as the trigger for major reforms in wolf policy in the United States.

Theia was plowed down by a snowmobile, her snout taped closed, and her grievously injured body taken to a bar to be mocked by patrons. After hours of abuse, her tormentor, Cody Roberts, took her out back and shot her.

There is outrage within Wyoming and across the world. And we at Animal Wellness Action and the Center for a Humane Economy are working to harness that outrage and to endsre that Theia did not die in vain.

The purpose of this webinar, a special edition of the Claudia Miller Ignite Series on Animal Welfare, is to educate the thousands of people who have reached out to just our organizations, including the Center for a Humane Economy and Animal Wellness Foundation, on what our next steps are.

  1. Continue to press for a charge of felony animal cruelty to be leveled against Cody Roberts and ensure he is sentenced to at least one year of jail time.
  2. Pressure Wyoming officials to modify state wolf policies to afford the animals real, meaningful protection.
  3. Call on the U.S. Department of the Interior to re-list wolves for federal protection in Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.

You will leave the webinar wholly informed about developments in Wyoming related to the wolf and with a clear understanding of how you can participate in our work to ensure no case like this happens again.

We hope you’ll join us. Please sign up today, as we expect the online event to fill quickly.
