Picnic in the Park April 26; 4-6:30 p.m. Market Square Park Celebrate Earth and Arbor Day with Picnic in the Park! You'll learn more about the City's Natural Resources and Recycling efforts, as well as the Fresh Air Fridays initiative. While there, you can pick up supplies to facilitate your own park cleanup project.?
Tricia and the Toonies Enviro Show April 24; 5 p.m. City Hall Council Chambers Children (and adults) are invited to laugh and sing along while learning more about resources, recycling and caring for the environment. This event is free, but space is limited, so registration is required. Register today!

Fresh Air Fridays
Whether it?s choosing to walk, bike or carpool; opting to repurpose instead of buying new; making energy efficient choices at home; or deciding to compost food waste; residents are encouraged to think outside the box and have a little fun while participating in Fresh Air Fridays.

2024 Street Improvements
The City, County and State all maintain different roadways in our community; here are some projects planned for the coming year.

Mosquito Control
Metropolitan Mosquito Control District trucks, helicopters, and staff will be out in neighborhoods and parks this spring and summer working to reduce mosquito-borne disease and annoyance.

Mendota Bridge Trail Detour
MnDOT will be closing the pedestrian/bicycle route over the Mendota Bridge starting sometime in May. This project will also reduce the westbound vehicle lanes widths to 10 feet during the project but two lanes are scheduled to remain open. The eastbound rails were replaced in 2023 with minimal disruptions.

Dakota Co. Solid Waste Planning Survey
Dakota County is updating its Solid Waste Management Plan. The plan will guide how waste is handled in Dakota County for the next 20 years (2024-2044). The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has identified new strategies that Dakota County must adopt to increase recycling and reduce waste going to landfills. Share your feedback on how these strategies could work in Dakota County.?

Athletic Gear Donation Drive
April 15-26 City Hall
Accepting all reusable athletic gear for families in need. Donations are needed for baseball, basketball, hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and more. Donations will be distributed by the?United Heroes League.
