Neighbors,???

Another sunny weekend is on the horizon, and personally, I?m excited to enjoy the sunshine after so many late nights on the House Floor. We?ve continued passing policy packages to improve the lives of Minnesotans, and with just a month left in the legislative session, things are moving quickly.??

A close second to the wins we scored for Minnesota with these policy packages: I took second place in the Minnesota House Men?s College Basketball Tournament Bracket, hosted by my colleague Rep. Leon Lillie.??

TROPHY

Currently in the Elections Committee, we?re working on a supplemental budget bill to build upon last year?s historic progress. You can read more about the package here [ [link removed] ]. It includes the Local Voices, Local Choices Act, authored by Rep. Cedrick Frazier.?

Free Park Day

Get your hiking boots ready -- Saturday, April 27 is the next free entrance day to all Minnesota parks! Minnesota state parks are open year-round, and there's a state park within 30 miles of most Minnesotans. With a free day in each season, it's a great opportunity to get out there and explore someplace new! Whether you stay for the whole weekend or just spend a few hours outside, you'll make memories that will last a lifetime. So be sure to get out and visit our wonderful parks!

Minnesota Values Project Survey

Almost seven years ago, the Minnesota House DFL started the Minnesota Values Project (also known as MVP) as a partnership between Minnesotans, elected officials and organizations to create a shared vision for the future of our state. Working together, we?ve strengthened our communities by improving education opportunities, making affordable health care a reality, and increasing economic prosperity for all Minnesotans.?

Through this project, we have facilitated hundreds of meaningful conversations with people across all of Minnesota about their priorities. We?re continuing this work and want to engage with as many Minnesotans as possible. As we continue the 2024 legislative session, I want to hear more perspectives and feedback from Minnesotans. As part of this effort, you?re invited to take the new Minnesota Values Project survey [ [link removed] ].??

The survey only takes a few minutes, and as we build a shared vision for our state, your input is crucial in this process. I look forward to hearing from you [ [link removed] ]!?

Expanding Insurance to Cover Prosthetics & Wigs

DFLers are laser focused on making sure all Minnesotans can work, go to school, run errands and afford their lives with dignity. Two bills that are advancing would require insurance companies to cover the costs of wigs for people undergoing cancer treatment, and the costs for prosthetics for those who need them. As families work through a new transition in their lives or navigate a new diagnosis or health challenge, the last thing they should have to worry about is their financial security. These are common sense proposals I support and will advocate for as we continue to pass legislation that puts Minnesotans first.?

The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State recently released a notice of vacancies for various state boards, councils and committees that are accepting applications. Any Minnesotans interested in public service are encouraged to apply! There are positions for people from all backgrounds and professions, from cosmetologists to engineers.??

You can find the full list of vacancies here [ [link removed] ].?
