Dear John,

Earth Day is Monday, and Plastic Pollution Coalition will be in Ottawa, Canada to advocate for a strong UN Plastics Treaty. This treaty represents a chance to drastically reduce plastic pollution and its toxic impacts. As the fourth of five negotiating sessions for the UN Plastic Treaty, this is a key moment to ensure the treaty includes strong reduction measures and prioritizes human health, especially for communities on the frontlines of the plastic pollution crisis.

Our team in Ottawa will be pushing for a strong Plastic Treaty by:

- Hosting a panel on our recently launched Global Plastic Laws Database and resource center, which tracks global plastic policy and is a key tool for legislators, activists, businesses, and scientists advancing strong plastic policies
- Presenting a powerful letter to the U.S. delegation from our Coalition Business members calling for support of truly sustainable and regenerative business practices
- Along with our allies, [delivering petitions]([link removed]) to the U.S. delegation calling on them to take a stronger stance in the treaty negotiations
- Co-leading communications in the U.S. with our allies, providing critical commentary and explainers to our network of activists and the general public
- Advocating for negotiators to uplift policy solutions and hold governments accountable to the frontline communities and environments threatened by plastic production and pollution

It will be an incredibly busy 10 days, but we know our efforts are critical for coalition members and the international communities who are seeing first hand the detrimental impacts of plastics on their bodies and environment. This work wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Onward together,

[Madison Dennis]
