[1]U.S. Senator Chris Murphy

We won’t lie to you — we’re reaching out because we need to ask you to make a donation to Chris Murphy’s re-election ahead of our FEC deadline on Sunday. Please give us a chance to explain.

We know it seems odd that we have an FEC deadline on Sunday. What’s so special about April 21? Well, the truth is this deadline is unique to our race because it’s the pre-convention deadline for Connecticut’s Senate race.

In just a few weeks, Democrats and Republicans in Connecticut will hold nominating conventions for our Senate race. By law, we are required to report our full fundraising numbers publicly one more time before the convention vote. That’s true for us and for all of our potential opponents.

That means this is our last chance to demonstrate strength before Chris makes his case to Democrats in Connecticut for why he should represent us in the Senate.

Our goal here is modest. What matters most is the number of donations to our campaign to show the depth of grassroots support for Chris. So falling short could put a target on our campaign.

Each donation helps us send a powerful message that the people want Chris representing them in the U.S. Senate. That’s why your support is so important, and it’s why we need to ask:

Will you please make a donation to support Chris Murphy’s campaign and own a piece of our fight? If everyone is pitching in, it will ensure we have the resources to hold the Senate majority and win the fight for our shared progressive values.

This movement is powered by tens of thousands of people just like you — teachers, small business owners, nurses, students, union workers, and people from all across America.

Thank you for being part of it.
