IDAHO: BIG NEWS! The Idahoans for Open Primaries campaign has surpassed 84,000 petition signatures <[link removed]> to get an open primary initiative on the November ballot. The campaign needs 63,000 valid signatures from Idaho voters but are collecting a surplus to ensure they have over 20% of the necessary signatures to get this on the 2024 ballot. Big congrats out to everyone in Idaho that made this possible: Veterans for Idaho Voters, Idaho Chapter of Mormon Women for Ethical Government, North Idaho Women, the Hope Coalition, Reclaim Idaho and Republicans for Open Primaries have all helped gather signatures.

SOUTH DAKOTA: South Dakota Open Primaries is working around the clock to put a top-two nonpartisan primary initiative on the 2024 ballot. So how can we help?  Easy.  Longtime Open Primaries supporter Guy Cammilleri has put up $50,000 of his own money as a 7 day matching gift to support the South Dakota organizing. The match applies to donations given to the campaign committee (click here <[link removed]>) or to the Open Primaries Education Fund South Dakota fund (click here <[link removed]>).

Every dollar you give will be worth two - but only if we hit the $50,000 mark. And we have 6 days to make it happen. Please give today and give generously.

OUR NEXT DISCUSSION IS NOT TO BE MISSED:

Next Thursday April 25th at 5pm ET, Open Primaries President John Opdycke will sit down with Dan Osborn–A veteran, union leader, and independent Nebraskan who is running for Senate and challenging Republican incumbent Senator Deb Fischer. He’s no politician. He’s spent his whole life fixing things and building his campaign around the simple notion that Nebraskans of all walks of life have more in common than the partisans who wake up every morning with new ideas about how to divide us. We’ll be discussing his dynamic campaign, his experience as an independent candidate in an overwhelmingly partisan system and why an “independent attitude” is crucial to moving the country forward.
