Trump is playing political games with the lives of people nationwide

Indivisibles,
This week, we got even more enraging and dangerous news about coronavirus relief efforts: according to a White House official, the Trump administration is prioritizing sending crucial medical supplies like masks and respirators to states that will be important for Trump’s re-election efforts this year.
Just one example: three days after Florida requested hundreds of thousands of masks and ventilators, it received everything in the request, followed by at least two more shipments. Meanwhile, New York -- with the nation’s worst outbreak -- has received less than 15% of the ventilators they need to treat patients.
This is disgusting. Every state, no matter where its residents fall on the political spectrum or how many electoral college votes it has, needs the resources and the funding to combat this crisis. Trump is playing political games with the lives of people nationwide.
We’re working hard to make sure the federal response to the coronavirus is focused on people over profits (or votes) -- you can check out all our demands here. But we need your help to make it all happen. Two things you can do right now:
- Record a video to your senators and representative to get them on the record -- every elected official in the country needs to condemn the Trump administration’s latest dangerous political strategy. Click here to record a short video urging them to take a stand.
- Donate to Indivisible -- we have to turn up the heat on the administration and everyone who enables the games they’re playing with our lives. In these times, that means things like providing video conferencing software so groups can organize across social distance, building toolkits, updating policy resources, shooting ads, and building websites. All those things cost money, and right now, many of our supporters can’t give because of economic constraints. If you’re lucky enough to be financially able, please consider clicking here and making a gift to help us keep this work up.
We know it’s really stressful to stay abreast of the news these days, and we hope you’re taking time to take care of yourself and your loved ones. But we also know that a great way to combat some of that stress is to DO something about it. So whatever that means for you -- joining a group, plugging into a mutual aid community, making calls or sending texts -- we’re here to help you get started.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
