John,

On April 19, 1995, our state witnessed an unfathomable act of violence that resulted in the loss of 168 lives. The Oklahoma City bombing was not only an attack on a building but also an assault on the values of democracy, compassion, and unity that define us as Americans.

In the face of such senseless violence, Oklahomans came together with courage and compassion to support one another and rebuild our community. We witnessed acts of heroism from first responders, volunteers, and ordinary citizens who rushed to aid those in need. Their selflessness and solidarity continue to inspire us to this day.

As we honor the memory of the lives lost and the countless others affected by this tragedy, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a more just and inclusive society. Let us strive to foster understanding, empathy, and unity in the face of division and hatred.

At the Oklahoma Democratic Party, we stand in solidarity with all those affected by the Oklahoma City bombing. Today, we join together in remembrance, reflection, and resilience as we continue our journey toward a brighter future for Oklahoma and our nation.

Democratically yours,

Alicia Andrews
Chairwoman, Oklahoma Democratic Party
