Last month, I called on President Trump to immediately begin using the Defense Production Act to produce the equipment we need to fight COVID-19.

I was optimistic that our call had been heard when he finally claimed to invoke Defense Production Act a few weeks ago, but in the weeks since, he has still failed to use the full powers of this law.

We are launching #MakeTheMasks to increase the grassroots pressure on Donald Trump to ramp up production of personal protective equipment (PPE). I need you to add your voice to ours.

Add your name: Tell Donald Trump to stop delaying and utilize the full powers of the Defense Production Act. We deserve to know who is making the equipment, at what scale, and where it’s going.

Nurses, doctors, first responders, and essential workers face a dire shortage of masks and critical protective gear, but Donald Trump refuses to use all tools available to get this equipment made and out to states.

Nurses are being asked to re-use masks, state officials are getting into bidding wars with other states, and hospitals are being forced to pay massively marked-up prices for the life-saving supplies they need.

Donald Trump is wasting time, and it will cost lives.

We are at war with the coronavirus, and it will require a wartime mobilization in order to defeat it.

Demand action from Donald Trump by adding your name and telling him that we need to #MakeTheMasks. Every day he delays he puts more of our lives at risk.

My priority from day one of this crisis has been the health and safety of working families.
