There is nothing more likely to draw the fire of the fossil fuel industry and entrenched special interests than progress.
As Earth Day approaches on April 22, believe me they are feeling threatened. The coordinated, perversely effective misinformation that’s encouraging investors to overlook climate risks—and in some cases trying to make it illegal for investors to consider it!–poses a grave danger to our planet’s future.
We’re seeing the distinct threat to conscientious investments in the form of legislation coming out of states like North Carolina and Oklahoma. These laws would deter smart investment and innovation and are stifling long-term economic and environmental progress.
Ceres is running a full-court press to counter blatant lies. We are aligning prominent business voices and leveraging their influence to advocate for sound practices and policies. We are staunchly opposing dangerous legislation in statehouses across the nation.
All these efforts require dedication, support, and a resilient community. We hope you’ll stand alongside us in this critical endeavor.
We aren’t backing down and we will continue to fight for YOU and for our planet, on Earth Day and far beyond.
