Byron 200 is a festival of exhibitions, events, and activities across Nottingham to mark the sensational life and legacy of Lord Byron, 200 years on from his death in 1824.
This weekend, Newstead Abbey hosts a celebration including games, talks, music, dancing, and much more throughout the historic house and gardens.
Come dressed as Byron to join the fun, meet his dogs, and maybe catch a glimpse of the man himself!

A thrilling preview performance of a new play by Clair/Obscur Theatre about the devastating, dashing, and brilliant Lord Byron, performed at his ancestral home.
Claire Clairmont, Byron’s former mistress, has just laid her mother to rest before heading back to Europe. However, a letter with a secret passed to Claire at the funeral has raked up painful memories about their scandalous affair and a nagging conviction that she must uncover the truth.
Resolving she cannot do this alone, Claire co-opts her half sister, Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, to help. Are they prepared for what will be unearthed?
Ay-Up Market

The Ay-Up Market - a celebration of Nottingham's independent retailers and creatives - returns to Old Market Square next weekend.
More than 60 local stallholders will be taking part, such as Bird & Blend Tea, Made in kNotts, Wild Clothing, Sap Plants, and Shop Zero. You can also indulge in tasty food and drink from Pudding Pantry, MemSaab, and Blue Monkey Brewery. See the full list of traders here.
Family-friendly entertainment will also be on offer, including a programme of live music, creative workshops, and cultural performances.
Nottingham Puppet Festival

If you missed last weekend's city centre takeover, don't worry as the Nottingham Puppet Festival wraps up on Sunday. It's your final chance to see the puppets across the city!
Explore exhibitions at the City Arts Window Gallery, Nottingham Central Library, and Lakeside Arts. You can also catch performances of Life of Pi, Sooty, and Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppets at Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall, or Anansi and the Lost Sun at Lakeside Arts.
Sausage & Cider Festival

The Sausage & Cider Festival is back for a spectacular day of festival fun, featuring dozens of sausage and cider flavours, eating competitions, glitter artists, a festival market, silent disco, and children's stage.
There will be incredible performances from headliners Scouting for Girls, and tribute acts: ABBA Revival, Young Elton, Brightside Killers, Gerry Cinnamon Experience, and Sham Fender. Plus special guest Barry from Eastenders with Barrioke!
Sound at Central

Nottingham Central Library's monthly music and performance event, Sound at Central, returns with programming supported by Nonsuch Studios.
An epic line-up of bands and artists take over the space as the bar and atrium-cum-dancefloor open for a cabaret night.
This month includes astounding local singer-songwriter Franklin Anslem, published poet and esteemed performer Sophie Sparham, rap-hip-hop-jazz fusion Local Healers, and visionary soulful artist and producer Phe B.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents Little Women, Louisa May Alcott’s beloved coming of age story, as part of our Open-Air Theatre season.
This summer, meet headstrong Jo March and her sisters Meg, Amy, and Beth. Each sister is determined to pursue her own path in life, but though their dreams may be different, their family ties remain as true as ever.
An uplifting and heartfelt tale of the March sisters’ journey into adulthood and all the trials and triumphs that come with it, Little Women features authentic costuming and a beautiful musical score.
Evolution Drone Light Show

Witness an epic-scale theatrical event told through a swarm of mesmerising drones flying in unison. Experience the sky above Nottingham as it becomes the stage for the story of our evolution.
Watch the universe unfold, from the humble beginnings of single-cell organisms, to the awe-inspiring reign of the dinosaurs, and ending with the arrival of modern humans.
Doors open at 7pm for food and entertainment.
Happy St George's Day!
Nottingham’s 60-foot flag has been unfurled on the Council House in preparation for St George’s Day. The flag, believed to be the largest in the country and measuring 60ft by 26ft (18m by 8m), has been sponsored this year by SCAPE and signage company John E Wright.
