Dear John,

IN A STUNNING DISPLAY OF PARTISANSHIP, THE DEMOCRATIC-MAJORITY U.S.
SENATE HAS SHAMEFULLY DISMISSED IMPEACHMENT CHARGES AGAINST HOMELAND
SECURITY SECRETARY ALEJANDRO MAYORKAS. This unprecedented move marks a
departure from historical norms, as never before has the Senate
dismissed impeachment charges against an official without the
individual resigning beforehand.

The charges against Mayorkas accused him of failing to enforce U.S.
border laws and lying to Congress, amidst a surge of illegal
immigration under the Biden administration. Despite record-breaking
numbers of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, Senate
Democrats have chosen to endorse the Biden administration’s reckless
open-border policies.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, along with fellow top Republicans, rightly
condemned this dismissal, highlighting the Senate Democrats'
complicity in enabling dangerous border policies. The U.S. Border
Patrol's alarming statistics, with over 1 million arrests of migrants
in the past six months alone, underscore the severity of the crisis
ignored by Senate Democrats.

Mayorkas, a former federal prosecutor born in Cuba, has attempted to
shift blame onto Congress for the border surge, hoping to exploit the
crisis to push through a reckless 30 million illegal immigrant amnesty
policy. This blatant disregard for the rule of law and national
security is unacceptable.

Despite calls from top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell for a
thorough consideration of the charges, the Senate has chosen to evade
its responsibility to hold a legitimate public hearing.
