Vaisakhi parade this Saturday

A parade will take place this Sunday from 10am - 4pm to celebrate the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi. Rolling road closures will be in place around the city centre, including along Forest Road West, Forest Road East, Mansfield Road, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham Road, North Gate, Radford Road, Church Street, Alpine Street and Percy Street.

Overnight closures to London Road Island and Lower Parliament Street continue

We're carrying out resurfacing works on London Road Roundabout, Lower Parliament Street, Hollow Stone and Fisher Gate which means overnight closures are necessary.

Works began Sunday 7 April 2024 and will take place overnight Monday to Friday 10pm to 6am for four weeks. Road closures will be in place with signed diversions.

Given the location of the works – Nottingham City Council has been working closely with the Motorpoint Arena to ensure that road closures will not have significant impacts on people leaving the arena. On nights when there are events finishing later in the evening road closures will start at 11pm so concert goers can leave the area before works begin.

On-Street Robin Hood Ticket machines decommissioned

robin hood

Nottingham City Council have begun decommissioning the on-street Robin Hood Ticket machines.

A decision was made following the council’s budget consultation to switch off the machines given reduced usage and the range of alternative payment options available.

After the decommissioning of the machines, customers can still top-up Pay-As-You-Go cards via the Robin Hood Ticketing App, the Nottingham Travel Centre or at a NET tram stop machine.
