John, no one is above the law, including the former president.
This week, we saw former president Trump go on trial for election interference. It’s undeniable that his actions led to a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
Yet despite all that, so many of his allies—including many members of Congress—continue to support his horrific policies and candidacy.
Here’s the bottom line: If Trump causes as much chaos this election as the last one, Democrats are the last defense for our democracy, so we must take back the House to ensure our rights and freedoms stay protected.
A large number of American people agree that Trump must be held accountable and that Republican policies around reproductive rights, climate change, voting rights, health care, and safety nets like Social Security are out-of-step.
But a lot of my colleagues play political games instead of working for American families.
That’s why it’s important we hit our $6,000 goal before the end of this Trump trial week to show that we will fight and win.
