Here are some updates from today.

  • The Wisconsin Supreme Court allowed Gov. Tony Evers (D) to join a lawsuit seeking to overturn a decision by the court's previous conservative majority and restore the use of ballot drop boxes in the state.

  • The Nevada Supreme Court allowed an abortion measure to be on the ballot this November. If passed, the measure would enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution.

  • The U.S. Department of Justice is defending the Materiality Provision of the Civil Rights Act from a legal attack by Republicans who want to maintain Georgia's "wet signature" requirement for absentee ballot applications.

  • Democratic attorneys general from seven states and Washington, D.C. urged the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals to reconsider its decision requiring Pennsylvania to reject undated and wrongly dated mail-in ballots and defend the Civil Rights Act's Materiality Provision.

  • A New York court dismissed a challenge to the state elections board approving a touch screen voting machine called the ExpressVote XL. As of the time the lawsuit was filed, no counties had purchased that voting machine for use.
