This week was also the filing deadline for the FEC. Looking at the people who have submitted a fundraising report so far, this is shaping up to be a very crowded race (even with one or two names missing).
That’s really good news for us.
Washington’s Top Two primary system means that the top two vote getters advance to the general election. I ran as a Democrat in the last two elections, and we came within striking distance of winning the primary both times.
With tens of thousands of votes, we proved that Larsen is vulnerable. Now multiple Democrats are piling into the race to challenge him.
But none of those candidates have spent the years organizing in this community that I have. None of them have the name recognition, or the volunteer base and party support that I now get by running as a Green candidate.
My opponent is a former lobbyist who’s been holding this progressive, coastal district hostage to his fossil fuel agenda for 23 years. He’s been on the take with Big Oil since the day he set foot into office, and our communities are paying the price.
I’m a lifelong climate activist who doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, and I’m ready to start raising hell for climate action in Congress.
This district, this year, is our BEST chance to get a Green Party member elected to Congress in a generation. Don’t let this chance pass us by.
In solidarity,
Jason Call
