John,

There is a major divergence happening right now between Democrats and Republicans in Congress about how to protect our old-growth forests - which account for 34% of the world’s primary forests.

SEEC Members have sent a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack supporting a nationwide forest plan amendment and urging bolder moves to protect our national forests, while Republicans are trying to kill it. ADD YOUR NAME » [[link removed]]Our SEEC Members in Congress have been advocating for stronger protections for old-growth areas, urging the Biden administration to provide clear guidance on managing and monitoring the recruitment of new old-growth forests.

Meanwhile, Republicans are questioning the Biden administration's efforts, with an eye towards promoting timber production in these old-growth forests. (The irony here is real, because the number one idea Republicans have for stopping the climate crisis is to plant more trees).

We need your help to show the American people support protecting our old-growth forests. Will you sign our petition today to support our cause? [[link removed]]
