Sign the petition in support of vote by mail now!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Dear PFAW Member,
The global outbreak of the coronavirus is a serious threat to public health, public safety, and our democratic institutions. Over the last few weeks, we have all been struggling to adjust to our new normal-- and for many states that has meant unprecedented changes to election protocols. This election and our democracy are too important for us to move forward without building a plan for safe and secure elections we can all participate in.
Sign the petition if you agree that to get ahead of tumultuous and changing times, every state needs to offer no-excuse vote-by-mail options to ensure safe elections and access to the vote.>>
In California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, encouraging vote-by-mail has increased voter turnout and provided a safe and accessible alternative to in-person polls. Voting by mail also helps break down barriers for seniors, working families, people with disabilities, and young voters. While we must still offer in-person voting or other accessible options to people for whom vote-by-mail is not practical, such as certain Native American voters, vote-by-mail options could be essential to maintaining a functioning democracy in times when making an in-person visit to a polling place creates a public health risk.
Sign our petition urging state election officials to support vote-by-mail measures in advance of upcoming elections!>>
Voting by mail gives voters the option to safely vote from home--following social distancing guidelines-- and still provides for secure election administration.
