John,
The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the NSSF for short, is the firearm industry’s biggest trade group. Their name may not be as known as the NRA's, but their insidious influence is just as great.
The NRA and the NSSF share a history of:
LOBBYING against gun violence prevention bills,
fighting to OVERTURN fundamental gun safety laws, and
SHIELDING the gun industry from accountability.
But last year, the NSSF spent twice as much as the NRA in lobbying, putting $5.4 million into this deadly agenda.
The NSSF board is made up of firearm company executives, including Smith and Wesson, the manufacturer of the gun used in Parkland and other mass shootings. In short, gun violence is bad for their bottom line.
