Honoring Black Maternal Health Week This year marked the 7th Annual Black Maternal Health Week, which was held from April 11-17, 2024. In order to uplift Black women and their families, we at Start Early joined forces with Black Mamas Matter and many other advocates to center Black women’s scholarship, maternity care work, and advocacy across social media.
At Start Early, we're deeply committed to addressing the disparities in maternal health care. Our Healthy Parents & Babies program provides crucial support and coaching to pregnant individuals, young parents, and children from birth through age 3 in under-resourced communities across Chicago. Explore our doula services and learn how we're making a difference in the lives of children and families. |

That’s a Wrap: Early Childhood Advocacy Day 2024 Nearly 300 early childhood advocates from across the state joined Start Early in Springfield along with our partners Child Care for All, COFI, Illinois Action for Children, Latino Policy Forum, Raising Illinois, SEIU and We, the Village this spring to advocate for our state’s youngest learners on April 16.
Advocates were able to speak directly to their legislators about the importance of prioritizing early childhood education. In addition to traveling to Springfield, we also hosted a virtual Early Childhood Advocacy to give more opportunities to advocate for our state’s young children and families virtually. Thank you to everyone who attended in person or virtually to lend your voice to this important work! Learn more about Early Childhood Advocacy Day. |
