We have an exciting new plain language resource to share with you! As you may have seen in our recent Action Alert [[link removed]], the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a proposed rule to ban the use of electric skin shock devices for behavior modification. The Judge Rotenberg Center (JRC), an institution in Massachusetts, uses these devices on some of the people that live there. People get painfully shocked for things like swearing, standing up, hurting themselves, and much more.

The FDA is asking for people to comment on the proposed rule, so we made a Plain Language Guide [[link removed]] to show you how to write your comment! The guide gives you examples of things you can say in your comment and tells you the most important things to include. Even if you’ve never written a public comment before, the guide will show you how.

Make sure to check out and share the Plain Language Guide [[link removed]]. Thank you for taking action to stop the JRC from using these inhumane devices on disabled people!
