A weekly wrap of ADL’s reports, updates and analysis on antisemitism around the world.

This Week’s Topline

[link removed]
Antisemitism in America is a National Emergency

On Tuesday, ADL released our latest annual
[link removed]
Audit of Antisemitic Incidents. The data is appalling. Incidents — harassment, vandalism and assault — soared to an average of an incident an hour, seven days a week. 8,873 incidents in all, with incidents in every state and the District of Columbia.

So what’s next? The ADL community will speak out. We will work with law enforcement. We will lobby. We will protest. We will take action.

ADL hosted

a webinar to dive into the Audit and the state of hate in the United States earlier this week with ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt joined by Oren Segal, VP of the ADL Center on Extremism, ADL Washington D.C. Regional Director Meredith Weisel and Eden, a teen who experienced antisemitism. We hope you will watch the recording and share it online.

As a first way to take action, please take a moment to

MAKING GOOD PROGRESS THIS WEEK

More than 20 Members of Congress have agreed to cosponsor the bipartisan bicameral Countering Antisemitism Act (CAA) in its first week since its introduction. ADL is spearheading efforts to pass this important bill along with the Co-Chairs of the House and Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism. Data must drive policy, and in light of findings in the Audit of Antisemitic Incidents and the Campus Antisemitism Report Card, the need for this critical bill is clearer than ever to complement the National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism.

Campus Antisemitism Report Card: This new ADL tool, released in beta form last week with grades that evaluate 85 schools on their campus climate for Jewish students, is already drawing attention and providing support to students, parents, alumni and more. We hope that there is a ‘race to the top’ by schools, as every university takes action to improve their score for future updates of this tool. We encourage you to

Joint Statement About Escalating Iranian Hostilities: Israeli, U.S. and allied countermeasures have effectively thwarted hundreds of attempted efforts by the Iranian regime to strike Israel. Conflict in the Middle East and the targeting of Israel by terrorist organizations and state actors that sponsor terrorism have historically coincided with a surge in antisemitic activity, hate and violence targeting the Jewish community worldwide. In light of the rapidly escalating tensions, ADL has joined with other U.S. Jewish organizations about our coordinated work to prepare and protect our community, including ensuring communal safety during Passover and other observances.

Quds Day Protesters Praise Terrorists, Denounce U.S. and Call for Destruction of Israel: Last week, anti-Israel activists marked Al Quds Day (“Jerusalem Day”) with protests and other events against Zionism and the state of Israel. This annual event regularly includes virulent antisemitic and anti-Zionist rhetoric, and this year’s Quds Day protests were no different, as the ADL Center on Extremism reveals in a

new report.

Take Action Today

Make your voice heard! In the wake of the unprecedented attacks against Israel by the Iran regime and Hamas, the U.S. House must pass critical defense funding for Israel and protect Jewish communal spaces from extremist violence. The House has agreed to take up the Israel supplemental package this week. Due to ADL's leadership, they have included $400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to ensure that the Jewish community is protected at home as well.

A former @Cornell student pleaded guilty to posting online threats against Jewish students on campus. Grateful to @CivilRights, @NDNYnews, @FBI, @NYSPolice and Cornell University Police for acting to protect Jewish students, especially at a time of rising antisemitism.

Yesterday, NYC-based anti-Zionist org Within Our Lifetime held a disturbing protest outside the NYSE. Participants wore Hamas headbands, carried the Hezbollah flag & shouted “kill yourself” & “Hamas is gonna kill you” at a counter-protestor.
