I shouldn't have to send this email, but the reality is we have to.

The idea that a Democratic candidate for Congress would accept MAGA-backed money seems absolutely unconscionable, but unfortunately, this is a very real and present issue all over the country, and may be one even in a district as progressive as ours.

These outside MAGA interests want to see our progressive agenda not just weakened but dismantled. That’s why they’re spending millions in Democratic Primaries to elevate their candidates in an attempt to thwart those, like me, who refuse to compromise with MAGA Republicans. 

So, John, today, I want to declare that I will NEVER accept a dime of corporate PAC or MAGA-backed money.  

This is the same money fueling anti-choice politicians, election deniers and insurrectionists all across the country, and it has absolutely no place in our Democratic primary.

I’m also calling for every candidate in the OR-03 primary to do the same and pledge to REJECT any support from an organization fueled by MAGA Republican interests. 

Democratic Primaries should be fueled by a passion for progressive values and a desire to serve the community. MAGA funds should never have the ability or the opportunity to come into play.
