First, I want to thank you for your input on our survey about our state’s ban on high-capacity magazines.

Washington has long been a leader in gun safety reform. In fact, Washington voters overwhelmingly passed universal background checks more than a decade ago.

Now, we need to take this fight one step further.

Last week, President Biden called on Congress to finish the job and pass universal background check legislation nationwide.

I know I just asked you to weigh in on something – but I need to ask for you to take action again today. Will you add your name to our petition in support of President Biden’s call to action to implement common-sense gun safety reforms nationwide?

Far too many Americans have experienced the pain of losing a loved one to gun violence.

This crisis is pervasive – but it’s also preventable. Washington state has been on the forefront of gun safety reform for years, and we have proven without a doubt that common-sense measures like universal background checks work.

I’m proud of the important steps we’ve already taken to address the threat of gun violence across the country – but we have a lot more work ahead.

Make your voice heard: Add your name to our petition in support of the President’s call to action so we can make it absolutely clear that a majority of Americans support common-sense gun safety reforms.

Thanks for taking action.
