You may have noticed the shift. More social media, less email. As Planned Parenthood and their allies pour $$$ millions into Georgia to reach Millennials, Gen Z and younger through social media, digital, campus advertising, and billboards, Team GLA has pivoted to overhaul our social media to combat them.
Over the past 90 days alone, GLA has increased our reach over 300% to folks who don’t normally follow us. And, we have increased impressions by almost 100%. That’s just on Instagram. Similar positive results are trending on Facebook.
Why is this important?
The Story
An American Red Cross caseworker recently reached out to Georgia Life Alliance through Instagram. Her client is a family of two, a single mom of a16-year-old daughter, Lucy. Lucy is pregnant. Through encouragement and support, Lucy chose life ❤️
A few weeks before delivery date, tragedy set in. Lucy’s house burned down. Losing all of their possessions in a fire created desperation without hope, especially with a baby on the way. On top of that, Lucy’s mom could no longer get to work because her car broke down and was inoperable.
When Team GLA got that call, we sprang into action. We connected with two Alliance partners: Life Initiatives & Values (LIV) of First Baptist Church Woodstock and St. Vincent De Paul Georgia. They organized resources to get Lucy and her mother a vehicle! These extraordinary organizations were integral for Lucy, connecting her with a near by Pregnancy Resource Center to assist with birthing classes as well as supplies she and her baby will need for weeks and months after delivery!
Lucy delivered a healthy baby in no small part thanks to our Alliance of the dedicated organization who worked tirelessly to ensure every mother and her child are set up for success, regardless of their circumstances.
GLA’s mission to build a true Culture of Life in Georgia is working. For an American Red Cross caseworker to know our mission serves as an amazing testament to the growth and effectiveness of our work as we increase GLA’s presence online and in the public eye. GLA demonstrates that the pro-life movement is not just about the important work of legislating for the lives of the unborn, the vulnerable, the defenseless, but also ensuring resources are available for pregnant women, their babies, and fathers to build strong families, the fabric of a stable American society. That’s what a Culture of Life truly means.
Stories like these happen every day. They embody our mission.
Thankfully, Lucy’s life story has just begun!
