John, I am deeply concerned about the leadership at the U.S. Postal Service as we head into this election:

While we’ve taken strong action like powering all-new USPS mail trucks with electricity by 2026 through the Inflation Reduction Act, we’ve had to fight the Trump megadonor Postmaster General Louis DeJoy every step of the way.

Now, it appears DeJoy’s mismanagement could affect voting in another presidential election.

I’ll explain more in a moment about just how unfit DeJoy is to serve as Postmaster General, but if you’re already with me and agree we need to remove him from USPS leadership immediately, add your name to my petition calling for his removal today.

This isn’t simply the story of a Postmaster General ratcheting up prices for the American people while degrading the Postal Service.

This is the story of a former Republican National Committee finance chairman, whose family owns tens of millions of dollars in stock in a direct competitor of the USPS, who has abused his taxpayer-funded position to award the company his family is invested in with a $120 million USPS contract.

This is the story of a Republican money man investigated by the FBI for perpetuating a straw donor scheme to benefit GOP candidates.

This is the story of the American Postal Workers Union’s fight to stop DeJoy from decommissioning mail sorting facilities at the height of the 2020 election, and a federal judge’s ruling that DeJoy’s efforts impeded voting.

Louis DeJoy lost my trust in his ability to run the USPS a long time ago, but he’s still Postmaster General as long as President Biden keeps the two open seats on the USPS Board of Governors without nominees — the only entity with the authority to remove Louis DeJoy.

Add your name to my petition calling on President Biden to act urgently to submit his nominees for the USPS Board of Governors to the Senate. Once we have confirmed his nominees, the Board will have the votes to remove DeJoy. We need to get this done.

Louis DeJoy shouldn’t continue to run the Postal Service in an election where Donald Trump, the guy who gave him the job and incited an insurrection when he lost, is running against the incumbent president.
