The harsh reality is that, while we’re doing everything we can to make today a special day, for most domestic workers today is just another work day, another day just trying to get by.

Our most recent survey showed 20% of domestic workers were out of work, 85% faced food insecurity and 50% dealt with housing insecurity.

It is beyond time that we take care of those who care for us, and we will stop at nothing to end the injustice prolonging this nightmare.

Care Workers Recognition Month is not just about all of us — those who care about domestic workers — showing our appreciation, it’s a moment to mobilize public and political support to end the injustices holding domestic workers back . And, to do that, we need the financial resources to bring the full weight of our movement to bear.
