VIDEO OF THE DAY: Jamie Raskin ERUPTS in must-see feud at House hearing
Republican Congressman, hapless impeachment crusader, and man perpetually in over his head James Comer ran head first into a brick wall of sorts, as Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin summarily swatted down the MAGA clown's tired, desperate, debunked claims attacking President Biden. Comer's impeachment efforts have gone absolutely nowhere, of course, but Republicans are clearly pot-committed and determined to go down with their sinking, stupid ship. "Somebody needs therapy here, but it's nobody on our side of the aisle," a flabbergasted Raskin noted. Roll the tape!

Senate rejects impeachment articles against Homeland Security Sec. Mayorkas, ending GOP's pointless political trial
Speaking of pointless Republican crusades, the nakedly political and completely futile effort to impeach Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas officially fizzled out yesterday in the Senate, where Democrats promptly and formally dismissed two articles of impeachment along party lines. The outright dismissal of House Republicans’ prosecution of Mayorkas, with no chance to argue the case, is an embarrassing defeat for the MAGA clown caucus and embattled Speaker Mike Johnson, who made the impeachment a priority despite the glaring absence of, you know, factual evidence. Can we please oust these bozos in November and get back to governing?

Arizona Republicans again quash effort to repeal 1864 abortion ban
For the second time in two weeks, radical right-wing goons in the Arizona House rejected an attempt to repeal the draconian 1864 abortion ban that was recently upheld by the battleground state's Supreme Court. Hellbent on forcing women to carry unwanted pregnancies to full term — even in instances of rape or incest — Republicans defied efforts by Democrats to force an immediate vote on repealing the ban, which was literally written *by a child rapist* when slavery was still a thing and women weren't allowed to vote. After they shot down the repeal effort, Republicans clapped and cheered in celebration of their ignorance and cruelty. The calendar may say 2024, but it's quite clear just how far they plan to roll things back when they scream "make America great again!" Please remember in November.

House’s Ukraine, Israel aid package gains Biden’s support as Speaker Johnson fights to keep his job
President Biden said he strongly supports a proposal from Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson to provide aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, sending crucial bipartisan support to the precarious effort to approve $95 billion in funding for the US allies this week. Before weekend voting, Johnson was facing a choice between potentially losing his job and aiding Ukraine. He notified lawmakers earlier Wednesday that he would forge ahead despite growing anger from his somehow-even-further-right flank. The speaker needs Democratic support on the procedural maneuvers to advance his complex plan of holding separate votes on each part of the aid package. Johnson is trying to squeeze the aid through the House’s political divisions on foreign policy by forming unique voting blocs for each issue, then sewing the package back together. Stand by for measured and in no way histrionic responses from "America First!" goons in MAGA land in 3, 2, 1...
Biden administration to halt major mining project over tribal hunting concerns
The Department of Interior is set to announce a ruling that would effectively halt a major mining development in Alaska over concerns that dozens of local tribes will be disrupted by the project, which was set to go through the Arctic National Park and Preserve, a major piece of protected land in the northern half of the state. The news could end a years-long battle between local tribes who opposed the project — which was controversially approved by an indifferent Interior department in the final days of the Trump administration — due to its impact on subsistence hunting, a major part of some tribal lifestyles across the state.
Boeing whistleblower tells Senate he was threatened by boss after raising concerns about plane safety
Quality engineer and Boeing whistleblower Sam Salehpour told a Senate panel that he has faced threats and verbal abuse after he spoke up about safety issues at the beleaguered planemaker. Asked on Wednesday if there’s a "culture of retaliation" against whistleblowers at Boeing, Salehpour responded, "Absolutely ... The only reason I have my job [is] because I had my attorneys, we filed [via] the whistleblower system before I spoke up." Salehpour added that he was once berated by his boss during a 40-minute phone call. "They call you on your personal phone to let you know that they know where you live," Salehpour said. "They know where you are. And they can hurt you." You are now free to move about the cabin of literally any aircraft other than a Boeing, folks.
