Donald Trump proclaimed a fake “state of emergency” to get funding for his border wall. But now, our border communities are facing a REAL CRISIS. Rather than spending billions of taxpayer dollars to fund Donald Trump’s hateful wall, we must use these funds to help fight the health and economic crisis felt in these communities.

A bill was proposed in the Senate that would generate $10 billion to fight the Coronavirus by diverting this money away from Trump’s vanity project.

We need leaders in Washington who will prioritize the health and safety of Americans over what political agenda will help them get re-elected.

No one is more affected by the construction of this symbolically racist border wall than South and West Texas.

Our communities are also the ones that need aid to fight this pandemic the most -- Texas has the highest rate of uninsured people, TWENTY rural hospitals closed down in the state since 2010, and in TX-23 alone there are three counties without any doctors at all.

TX-23 is on the frontlines of these battles. Our daily lives will be upheaved by the construction of this border wall and we’re also among the most likely to be overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the people most acutely affected, we want to send this message loud and clear: We want our tax dollars to go towards fighting an actual crisis.
