Right now, there are too many people facing treatable and preventable vision loss — all because they don’t have access to high-quality eye care. In rural communities across Bangladesh and India, we’re combating this issue through our Women-led Green Vision Centers, which improve the quality and accessibility of eye health services while focusing on sustainability.

Thanks to your support, green vision centers benefit over two million people just in India alone. These centers run on solar power, which not only reduces carbon impact, but also solves challenges caused by frequent power outages. This means patients are ensured uninterrupted, quality eye care — regardless of access to electricity.

The green vision centers have accomplished so much since their inception in 2022. They’ve provided children with free access to eye screenings, glasses and other eye care services. They’ve also created jobs and increased financial independence for the women-led management teams who run the centers — helping to address a variety of barriers that women and girls face.
