Aloha Members of the Hawaii Republican Party,
As your State Chair, I am reaching out with a call to action as we approach a significant moment for our party. This year, as we prepare for our upcoming convention, we are presented with an opportunity to shape the future of our party at the grassroots level.
The convention will serve as a critical platform where we will vote on important items such as the party rules, the National Committeeman and Committee Woman, as well as our platforms and resolutions. It is an important event that will determine the direction of our party to move forward now.
For 60 years, we have faced challenges and setbacks. It is time to reflect and ask ourselves, "has this been due to design, or complacency?" Too many voices have expressed concerns about our party being managed from the top down. Now, we stand at a crossroads where each of you has the power to influence this change. This convention is your chance to stand up and send a clear message, the time for grassroots action is now. Please reach out to your precinct chairs, district chairs, and County chairs. You can reach out to myself and I can point you in the "right" direction
I urge each of you to suit up and show up. Your voice is crucial. If you seek change, the time to act is now. Many proposed rules changes, diligently prepared by our Rules Committee, are available for your review on our website at www.thehawaiirepublicanparty.com. These rules are not merely procedural, they are a call to action. If we continue with the status quo, we will follow the same path that has not served us well. It's up to you to decide which rules changes to put through and decide which may or may not be in the best interest of the party and the people.
This year's voting rules are pretty straight forward. Read closely, engage critically, and consider why these changes are necessary or not. This is your moment to vote for change, and or to keep what may work for us now. This is your time to truly make an impact.
Moreover, this is a time for unity and connection. Reach out, involve your neighbors, and encourage them to join us as members in order to become an alternates or delegates. Change does not happen without action, and every additional voice strengthens our party.
I look forward to seeing all of you on May 4th and 5th. Together, let's take a bold step forward for our party and for our future. Visit our website to join, www.thehawaiirepublicanparty.com. Click on the convention tab to get more information on how to get involved and become a delegate.
Mahalo,
Tamara McKay
