Unfortunately, we fell short of our fundraising target for the April mid-month deadline on Monday so we'll have to tighten our budget for this quarter.

This setback also means that we won't be able to reach our goal of raising $25,000 by the end of Black Maternal Health Week tonight at midnight.

This week, we've shared the transformative potential of the Momnibus Act, with its 13 bills that will:

1. Make investments in life factors like housing, transportation, and nutrition.
2. Extend WIC eligibility during postpartum and breastfeeding periods.
3. Support community organizations working to improve maternal health.
4. Enhance care for veteran mothers via the Maternal Health for Veterans Act.
5. Broaden the perinatal workforce to ensure every mom receives trusted care.
6. Improve data collection to better understand and tackle this crisis.
7. Support moms who deal with mental health and substance use disorders.
8. Better, quality care for incarcerated mothers.
9. Invest in technology to enhance maternal health in underserved areas.
10. Promote payment models that incentivize high-quality maternity care.
11. Fund programs for maternal and infant health during public health crises.
12. Reduce climate-change related risks for mothers and babies.
13. Promote vaccinations to protect the health of both moms and infants.


The Momnibus will help to finally reverse the rising trend of maternal mortality, save moms’ lives, and close racial and ethnic disparities in maternal health outcomes.
