Breaking news: The House Elections Committee advanced the Elections Omnibus bill — which now incorporates the RCV local option bill — this morning, moving the bill on in the legislative process!
The RCV portion of the bill provides local control and levels the playing field for all local jurisdictions — cities, counties, and school districts — to adopt RCV if they wish. It also provides election standards for consistent implementation of RCV across Minnesota and allows state certification of RCV voting equipment and tabulation systems, which would expedite election results.
Thank you again to everyone who was able to join us to show support for expanding ranked choice voting in Minnesota! Stay tuned for details on future hearings!
If you would like to volunteer to help the RCV cause, consider signing up to volunteer at nominating conventions to help educate convention-goers on RCV and influence the next generation of Minnesota lawmakers! We are so grateful for your time and effort as we move the RCV bill forward at the Capitol; we simply couldn’t do this work without you. Your Fairvote MN team |
