Too often, our elected leaders in Columbia have forgotten the simple concept that they are there to do right by the very people that they represent. It’s common sense, really.
The reality, though, is that common sense has given way to chaos in Columbia. Representatives like my opponent, Tom Hartnett, continue to vote on the extreme issues that ultimately take away individual freedoms from our citizens and make our community less safe. We now live in a state where women no longer have freedom and control over their reproductive decisions, but a teenager can walk down King Street - gun in their hand, without a permit – and no one can stop them.
This, while our roads continue to flood and prices continue to rise.
I’ve had enough of it.
It’s time for our elected leaders to quit playing politics and focus on the issues that matter, including restoring a woman’s right to make choices about her own reproductive health, addressing climate threats to our safety and way of life, and keeping the cost of living down.
These are common sense issues that most agree need to be addressed immediately. But factions like the “Freedom” Caucus have taken the legislature hostage and caused chaos at the State House. I’m running to end that because we need leaders focused on pragmatic solutions, not political games.
I hope you’ll join me and donate today.
