Once again, Arizona MAGA Republicans have stood with the anti-choice minority and made a decision that puts the lives of millions of Arizonans at risk.

This afternoon, Republicans in the state legislature voted AGAIN to keep the 1864 abortion ban, with no exceptions for rape or incest. It is deeply concerning that after a week of lying about their anti-abortion record, fundraising in Kentucky on the successful passage of their draconian ban, planning to spread misinformation and pull voters away from the abortion access ballot initiative, and repeatedly stalling the repeal, they continue to stand on the side of extremism.

We cannot allow this to continue. It is time to take action and vote out these MAGA Republicans who are determined to take away reproductive healthcare from Arizonans. Kari Lake, David Schweikert, Juan Ciscomani, Matt Gress, Shauna Bollick, and TJ Shope must be held accountable for their actions, which go against the values of the vast majority of Arizonans.

We’re grateful to the Democrats who are committed to protecting reproductive healthcare. They will do everything in their power to restore the protections provided by Roe v. Wade for the millions of Arizonans who depend on reproductive healthcare.

However, today shows that the work isn’t enough and is a clear reminder of why we need to flip the legislature all the way blue. Republicans have a razor-thin majority in the state legislature and flipping just a few seats blue will deliver the pro-choice majority we deserve.

Arizona Democrats are ready to fight for abortion rights at every level of government. We will not back down in our efforts to protect the health and well-being of all Arizonans.
