1.
I
announced
that
Mercer
University
is
receiving
a
$134,197
grant
to
help
increase
the
number
of
computer
science
teachers
in
communities
across
Middle
and
South
Georgia.
Georgia
is
an
emerging
leader
in
manufacturing
and
the
entertainment
industries,
and
this
funding
will
help
give
our
students
the
education
they
need
to
pursue
careers
in
these
modernizing
industries.
2.
I
joined
Deputy
Secretary
of
the
U.S.
Department
of
Agriculture
Xochitl
Torres
Small
for
a
tour
of
Thompson
Family
Farms
in
Donalsonville,
Georgia.
I
was
proud
to
support
the
Inflation
Reduction
Act,
which
has
boosted
funds
for
programs
like
USDA
Rural
Energy
for
America
Program
(REAP)
that
are
available
to
all
rural
farmers
and
small
businesses,
helping
them
save
money
on
energy
costs
and
making
our
local
energy
grids
more
resilient.
3.
I
announced
that
the
Department
of
Health
and
Human
Services
is
awarding
a
$19,987,665
Head
Start
grant
to
the
Enrichment
Services
Program
in
Columbus,
Georgia.
Making
investments
in
the
well-being
of
our
children
increases
their
chances
for
success
later
in
life.
I
will
continue
to
fight
for
programs
like
Head
Start
to
help
shape
a
brighter
future
for
our
families
in
Middle
and
Southwest
Georgia.
