Friends — It’s been more than three years since the attack on our Capitol on January 6th.

Three years since Donald Trump organized a violent mob that stormed our seat of government, attacked law enforcement, and temporarily halted the peaceful transfer of power.

It was an attempt to install Trump as an unelected dictator. And Republican leaders and elected officials stood side by side with the rioters as they worked to invalidate President Biden’s legal electoral victory.

Before that day, I never thought I would be running for office or sending an email like this. But what January 6th made many of us realize is that our democracy, and our freedoms, are not guaranteed.

We have to actively work against the forces on the far-right who seek to destabilize our democracy. We have to compete in every election we can and keep election deniers and conspiracy theorists out of the halls of power at every level of government.

If you agree, the first step needs to be taking back control of the House from GOP extremists. 139 Republican members of the House voted to overturn the 2020 election results on January 6th. That’s a strong majority of their caucus.

I’m running in one of the most competitive House districts in the country. The GOP will be looking to flip this seat so they can protect their House majority. It’s going to be a tough 2024 for our campaign.

But if everyone reading this right now chipped in today, we’d have the resources we need to take on the far-right here in Virginia and win this crucial seat for Democrats. Then we can begin the work of safeguarding our elections, restoring the right to vote, and much more.
