Team,

Tax Day for most folks was Monday, but for those of us here in Massachusetts, it’s TODAY, April 17th!

We know no one likes paying taxes, but our tax system plays an important role in funding the many vital programs and services that benefit us all, including paying our teachers and first responders, improving our roads and bridges, and so much more. That’s why it’s critical that everyone pays their fair share – particularly the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case for a long time. In fact for decades, working families have shouldered the burden while the richest families and corporations have used loopholes and special privileges to pay less in taxes than public school educators, nurses, and firefighters. And the worst part is that as we speak, Republicans are pledging to slash taxes for the rich even more if they control Congress and the White House.

Meanwhile, Lori and House Democrats have been fighting to close tax loopholes and invest in working families and small businesses. So this tax day, can you show you stand with working families by chipping in to support Lori and House Democrats fighting for a fair tax system for all? [[link removed]]
