John —

Social Security isn’t just a government program. It’s a promise — a commitment from your government that if you contribute your fair share, the government will have your back when you need it most.

Despite the fact that 80% of Americans want to see Social Security expanded rather than cut, House Republicans have made slashing Social Security one of their top priorities.

In New York, the livelihoods of more than 500,000 individuals depend on the Social Security benefits they've earned. Yet, one of Nick LaLota's first moves in Congress was to join the Republican Study Committee (RSC). Last month, the RSC unveiled a dangerous proposal that would not only slash Social Security, but privatize Medicare, dismantle the Affordable Care Act, and outlaw abortion entirely.

LaLota’s budget proposal ignores the majority of Americans who want to see their benefits protected, and it would have devastating consequences for the millions of Americans — including countless Long Islanders — who rely on critical Social Security benefits.

In Congress, Nancy Goroff will advocate for programs that are vital to the well-being of millions of Americans and thousands of New Yorkers.

Because here’s the bottom line: After you retire, when disaster strikes, or when you lose a loved one, you should get the help you've been promised — and that you've earned.

If you’re ready to elect a leader who will stand up to out-of-touch politicians and be a fierce defender of Social Security, Medicare, and other crucial benefits, make a donation of $10, or any amount to help elect Nancy to Congress this November.
