John,
Monday was Tax Day and guess who didn’t pay their fair share in taxes? Billionaires and ultra-millionaires who can go years, if not indefinitely, without paying income taxes on their massive wealth gains.
We’re rallying national allies to keep the pressure on Congress to enact policies like the Billionaires Income Tax and the Billionaire Minimum Income Tax, which would tax the wealth gains of billionaires and ultra-millionaires each year.
And we’re demanding large profitable corporations pay their fair share in taxes by increasing the corporate tax rate from 21% to at least 28%, closing loopholes that allow corporations to shift jobs and profits offshore, and strengthening the corporate profits minimum tax.
Already, more than 62,000 people have signed our petition demanding Congress side with working people, not billionaires and large profitable corporations. Add your name now to keep the pressure on Congress to act!
Together we’re fighting for policies that put working people first―and that starts by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share in taxes and preserving IRS funding to crack down on wealthy and corporate tax cheats.
Our activism, particularly in this pivotal election year, will make all the difference in our ability to implement policies that hold the wealthy and big corporations accountable.
Thank you for taking action today,
Maura Quint
