Featured Funding OpportunitiesPublic Impact Projects at Smaller OrganizationsThe National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Division of Public Programs is accepting applications for the Public Impact Projects at Smaller Organizations program. This program strengthens the capacity of small and mid-sized museums and cultural organizations to create and develop public humanities programming.Funded projects can evaluate current interpretive programs and collections to identify new story opportunities and implement new programs. Alternatively, support can be sought for professional development opportunities to enhance staff and volunteer skills as interpreters.Optional draft due May 8, 2024Deadline to Apply: June 12, 2024Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) FY24 STOP School Violence ProgramThe STOP School Violence Program is designed to improve school safety by providing students, teachers, and staff with the tools they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and prevent acts of violence.BJA seeks to increase school safety by implementing solutions that will improve the school climate. Solutions include school-based behavioral threat assessments and/or intervention teams to identify school violence risks among students, technological innovations that are shown to increase school safety such as anonymous reporting technology, and other school safety strategies that assist in preventing violence.Grants.gov Deadline: June 12, 2024, 8:59 pm EasternApplication JustGrants Deadline: June 20, 2024, 8:59 pm EasternFY24 COPS Hiring Program (CHP)CHP is a competitive award program designed to provide funding directly to law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire additional career law enforcement officers to increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.Grants.gov Deadline: June 6, 2024, 4:59 pm EasternApplication JustGrants Deadline: June 12, 2024, 4:59 pm EasternU.S. DOT Multimodal Project Discretionary Grant Program (MPDG)On March 25, 2024, the Department of Transportation published a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) announcing $5.1 Billion in MPDG funding. Applications are due by May 6, 2024, on Grants.gov.Available funding includes:$1.7 billion for the National Infrastructure Project Assistance (Mega) program: The Mega program invests in large, complex projects that are difficult to fund by other means and are likely to generate national or regional economic, mobility, or safety benefits. Eligible projects include highway, bridge, freight, port, passenger rail, and public transportation projects of national or regional significance. $2.7 billion for the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) program: The INFRA program awards competitive grants to multimodal freight and highway projects of national or regional significance to improve the safety, accessibility, efficiency, and reliability of the movement of freight and people in and across rural and urban areas. $780 million for the Rural Surface Transportation Grant (Rural) program: Eligible projects for Rural grants include highway, bridge, and tunnel projects that help improve freight, safety, and provide or increase access to agricultural, commercial, energy, or transportation facilities that support the economy of a rural area. Small Business ResourcesThe SBA Upstate New York District Office is excited to host a THRIVE cohort in Syracuse:The application portal for the 2024 SBA T.H.R.I.V.E. Emerging Leaders Reimagined Program is open through April 28. This program is designed to provide free, comprehensive business coaching and education to CEOs of small businesses, like yours, looking to take their businesses to the next level.Join THE no-cost virtual interactive session to learn more about the program and have your questions answered. WBCs are a part of a national network of entrepreneurship centers designed to assist women in starting and growing small businesses. The additional funds will support the expansion of childcare delivery systems, increase childcare slots, and improve childcare access, affordability, and quality.New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)The NYSBDC provides small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York with the highest quality, confidential business counseling, training, and business research at no cost.The Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region. Since its start in 1984, the expert advisors of the Albany SBDC have worked directly with 28,053 businesses, helping them to invest $543,926,495 in the area's economy, and create or save 15,244 jobs.You can make an appointment for counseling by calling 518-442-7232 or filling out their online form.
