Friend,

I got a phone call from a young man who recently had to travel to Washington for work—and I want you to hear this.

Within just 12 days of coming home, he woke up with a sore throat, fever, and a bad cough.

Since his symptoms have developed, he has tested negative for the flu and strep throat, and he has tried everything he can think of to get a COVID-19 test: he has contacted area healthcare systems, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the CDC. He even drove to Wisconsin, hoping that his luck might be different in another state. In the midst of all of this, he isn’t even worried about himself. His main concern is that he is living with his 70-year-old parents, who are among those most at risk.

My heart goes out to this young man and his family.

Unfortunately, he isn’t the only one I’ve heard from. Two other individuals have reached out to us with similar stories, and a third is concerned her two-year-old granddaughter has COVID-19.

The main role of the government is to keep us safe. This administration and our representation in D.C. need to ensure that anyone who wants to be tested can be—and as quickly as possible. It’s unconscionable that our friends and neighbors, especially those who have come down with symptoms and are begging for help, are being left in the dark.

We need testing, and we need it now. Not for the uber-wealthy. For everyone.

Will you please join me today and add your name to my petition calling for swift action to extend rapid coronavirus testing to every American in this country, regardless of wealth, access, race, or gender? We need 2,000 grassroots supporters to sign A.S.A.P.

With you,

Quinn
