John, here’s the thing: no one expected us to win this primary election outright. 

Folks assumed that there would be a lengthy run-off election, and that we wouldn’t have a nominee until the end of May. 

To be frank: they underestimated us, and we proved them wrong. 

I’m used to people not taking me as seriously as they take my peers. Time and time again, I’m able to rise above and get the work done.

And that’s exactly what I’m going to do in November when I become the first gay woman elected to Congress from the South. 

In order to keep our fundraising on track this month, we need to bring in $10,000 by the end of the week. Will you chip in any amount you can to help power our campaign and show that we’re ready to make history this November?
