Dear John,



My name is Hung Cao. I came to the United States as a refugee from Vietnam,
one of the last families to escape the communists in 1975. I spent my youth in
West Africa where my dad found work only to return to the United States at the
age of 12 to learn English and attend American schools.



I grabbed on the American Dream and was part of the inaugural graduating class
of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. I graduated from
the United States Naval Academy and earned Fellowships to MIT and Harvard.



BUT I PAID BACK THE AMERICAN DREAM IN FULL WITH 25 YEARS OF SERVICE IN NAVY
SPECIAL OPERATIONS. I saw combat in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia. I dove down
to recover John F Kennedy Jr’s plane and recovered victims from the earthquake
in Pakistan.



Along the way, my wife of 25 years and I created a 501(c)3 non-profit that
builds beeping Easter Eggs for visually impaired children, to teach service to
our five children. We were featured at the White House Easter Egg Roll several
times.



In any other instance I would be featured in the front of magazines for
running for U.S. Senate against a career, entrenched politician. But there is
one problem:THE “R” BEHIND MY NAME.



Yes, I am the Democrats’ worst nightmare. A LEGAL immigrant who pulled himself
up by the bootstraps, who fought and bled for our country and believes that the
United States is the best country in the WORLD!

They unleashed the power of the media against me, hiring a Wisconsin reporter
to do a hit job on me. They are unencumbered by facts, details or the law, in
an attempt to intimidate my donors.



In their articles, they call me a failed Congressional candidate, but they
never mentionedthat I moved a very blue district in Northern Virginia, which
includes Loudoun County, by 13%.Joe Biden won by 19% in this district and I
lost by less than 6%. Do you know who else was a failed Congressional candidate
but won his U.S. Senate seat? Barack Obama (not that I want his name on the
same line as mine).



My opponent Tim Kaine is scared. He sees that I am very close to unseating
him, so he has called me everything from an extremist, to white adjacent, to a
NAZI! I never realized a Vietnamese refugee who fought for our country can be a
Nazi, but again, they are unencumbered by facts or details.



My wife and I were fully aware of the nasty lies and attacks against our good
name and our family. They have even come after my employers to get them to fire
me. We prayed a long time about running for office, but we knew if we didn’t
step up, who would?We are answering the call.



We can’t be intimidated by their leftist, Marxist strategies. I have put my
life on the line on the battlefield, faced death and looked at pure evil in the
eyes. These Democrats don’t scare me one bit, because I have woken up without a
flag to stand under or a country to call my own.I WILL NOT ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN
TO OUR CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN! Over my dead body!



Stand with me! I will take shots all day and twice on Sunday, but I need the
ammunition to fight back for US!
