Upcoming Events: Winter 2024 ( [link removed] )The
days are getting longer and warmer and we're itching for hiking
season to start! In our Glacier Conversation
( [link removed] ) tonight we'll have a
peek inside the critical role of the Montana Conservation Corps
to inspire young people through hands-on conservation service.

In May, Glacier Book Club
( [link removed] ) returns with an
fascinating discussion about ranger life with Andrea Lankford,
the author of the excellent Ranger Confidential. We'll discuss
her experience in national parks--where nature and humanity
constantly collide, and the scenery can be as cruel as it is
redemptive. This event is in partnership with Midtown Reader
( [link removed] ) in Tallahassee, FL.

Ranger Confidential
with author Andrea Lankford

Wednesday, May 29
6:30PM MDT

For twelve years, Andrea Lankford lived in the biggest, most
impressive national parks in the world, working a job she loved.
She chaperoned baby sea turtles on their journey to sea. She
pursued bad guys on her galloping patrol horse. She jumped into
rescue helicopters bound for the heart of the Grand Canyon. She
won arguments with bears. She slept with a few too many
rattlesnakes. Ranger Confidential is the story behind the scenery
of the nation’s crown jewels—Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone,
Great Smokies, and Denali.

Lake McDonald Water Quality with Brooke Bannerman

Wednesday, June 12
6:30PM MDT

Lake McDonald may be the most photographed view in all of Glacier
National Park. It is an iconic symbol of the park’s natural
beauty and clean water. Glacier’s aquatic team aims to keep it
that way which is precisely why a 2-year, Conservancy-funded,
nutrient study of Lake McDonald was completed in 2023. You don’t
want to miss this conversation with Brooke Bannerman, University
of Montana Ph.D. student, as she shares stories from her time
studying Lake McDonald and the results of her important work.
