House Delivers Impeachment Articles Against Alejandro Mayorkas to Senate

Spencer Brown: The House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon formally delivered the articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate as the fate of a trial remains uncertain amid Democrat attempts at upending tradition and constitutional duty. The House narrowly cleared the Mayorkas impeachment articles for “high crimes and misdemeanors” in a 214-213 vote held in February. It took Mayorkas multiple years and countless press conferences, congressional hearings, and media interviews to finally admit last week that what is going on at the border is, in fact, a “crisis” (Townhall). Speaker Mike Johnson: House Republicans are demanding that Chuck Schumer have the full trial of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. He is the worst cabinet secretary that has ever served in the history of the United States. There has to be accountability (X).

Supreme Court Backs Idaho’s Law Protecting Minors From Bodily Mutilation Surgery
Conservative Brief: The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision, ruled that the state of Idaho could go ahead and enforce its ban on gender-altering medical procedures for minors that would cause permanent damage, at least for now. Critics have denounced so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors as horrendous and abusive, saying that permanently disfiguring a child’s body for a political cause is cruel and inhumane. Many of the same critics have urged states to pass laws preventing minors from undergoing such procedures, pushing off such decisions until they reach adulthood (Conservative Brief). Axios: Idaho is among 24 states with laws and policies prohibiting or restricting minor access to gender-affirming care (Axios).

U.K. Culture Secretary Tells Heads of Sports to Protect Integrity of Female Sports
Daily Mail: Transgender athletes should be banned from competing against women, the Culture Secretary told sporting chiefs. Lucy Frazer said officials had a duty to give female athletes a ‘sporting chance’ because male-born rivals have an ‘indisputable edge.’ She summoned representatives of sports including cricket and football to a meeting yesterday to urge them to stop transgender athletes competing against women at the elite level. Her intervention follows a landmark review of NHS gender identity services for children and young people that raised major concerns about the country’s approach to transgender issues (Daily Mail). Telegraph: The Football Association and the England and Wales Cricket Board’s policies are under review, but do currently permit transgender women to compete in female competitions subject to certain conditions. The Culture Secretary said that “biology matters” when it comes to sport (Telegraph).

Supreme Court Listens to Oral Arguments About Jan 6 Protesters’ Charges, Prison Sentences
Fox News: Legal experts said the Biden administration was “on the ropes” in Tuesday’s oral arguments at the Supreme Court in a case questioning whether a Jan. 6 rioter can be charged with a federal “obstruction” crime, which carries implications for former president Donald Trump. On Tuesday, Jeffrey Green, lawyer for Joseph Fischer – who is one of more than 300 people charged by the Justice Department with “obstruction of an official proceeding” in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol – argued that the federal statute shouldn’t apply, and that it had only ever been applied to evidence tampering cases (Fox News). End Wokeness: Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch nukes Joe Biden’s DOJ over January 6th sentences: Gorsuch lists multiple cases of folks who “obstructed a Congressional proceeding” without receiving a 20 year sentence. 1. Sit-ins at a trial (Kavanaugh protests). 2. Pulling a fire alarm (Rep. Bowman). 3. Hecklers in the crowd (Palestine). 4. Mostly-peaceful protests (BLM) (X).

Illegal Immigrants in NYC Crowd Outside City Hall to Protest Green Cards, Living Conditions
Daily Caller: New York City officials are continuing their demands that the Biden administration and Gov. Kathy Hochul do more to help with the city’s migrant crisis. A New York City committee hearing, officially titled The Experience of Black Migrants in New York City, was held on Tuesday to address the migrant crisis currently plaguing the city, specifically in regards to the high influx of Africans arriving and in need of housing and other government services. The hours-long hearing was also rife with accusations that African migrants are given worse treatment than their Spanish-speaking counterparts (Daily Caller). New York Post: About 1,300 African migrants gathered outside City Hall Tuesday morning hoping to appear at a hearing on the black experience in the city shelter system — with some saying they were promised work visas or green cards if they showed. Only 250 people were allowed inside for the hearing, while the hundreds of others who flocked downtown were left outside in a park, where footage showed them chanting and cheering (New York Post). Collin Rugg: Hundreds, if not thousands of illegal immigrants line up outside of New York City Hall for a meeting on migrants and their experience in NYC. The City Council is creating a team of advisors to improve migrants’ experience in the city. The goal is to make the experience for illegals even better than it already is (X).

U.S. to Impose New Sanctions on Iran
Axios: The U.S. will impose new sanctions on Iran’s missile and drone program after the country’s unprecedented attack on Israel over the weekend, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan announced Tuesday evening. President Biden is urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to exercise military restraint. But in the economic sphere, the administration is demonstrating a willingness to retaliate against Iran (Axios). Townhall: It’s worth reminding that the United States already had sanctions in place against Iran, and yet the Biden administration has still allowed them to access billions of dollars thanks to the release of $6 billion as part of a hostage negotiation, unfreezing $10 billion by extending a waiver sanction for funds frozen in Iraq, and the refusal to enforce oil sanctions on Iran (Townhall).

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg Looks to Hold Trump in Contempt of Court, Hold Him for 30 Days in Jail
Fox News: Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed a motion Tuesday to hold former President Trump in contempt of court, claiming he violated the gag order imposed upon him by publishing three social media posts relating to two known witnesses in his criminal trial — Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels. Bragg is urging Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan to also warn Trump that “future violations” of the gag order can be punished “not only with additional fines, but also with a term of incarceration of up to thirty days” (Fox News). Post Millennial: DA files motion to hold Trump in contempt (X).

NPR Suspends Journalist for Bringing Attention to Network’s Left-Wing Bias
Daily Wire: National Public Radio (NPR) has suspended Senior Business Editor Uri Berliner after he publicly accused the network of espousing left-wing bias with an essay that began a media firestorm. Last week, Berliner received a letter that informed him of a five-day suspension without pay beginning Friday, according to a report by NPR’s media correspondent David Folkenflik. NPR told Berliner he failed to follow the network’s rules and get approval for outside work for other news outlets after his essay for The Free Press and follow-up interviews. The Free Press published the essay on Tuesday last week in which Berliner argued NPR “lost America’s trust” with its increasingly liberal bent. Berliner additionally wrote about how he tried to make some of his concerns known internally. He said no one ever “trashed” him, but he was repeatedly brushed off and nothing changed (Daily Wire). National Review: When Berliner looked into the partisan affiliations of NPR’s Washington, D.C., based editorial employees, he couldn’t find a single registered Republican. The media outlet has since taken flak over its new CEO’s resurfaced social-media posts. In 2020, Katherine Maher tweeted that former president Donald Trump is a racist and tried to minimize the rioting and looting during the George Floyd protests that summer (National Review).

Speaker Mike Johnson Does Not Back Down From Fringe GOP Looking to Oust Him
ABC: House Speaker Mike Johnson is forging ahead with a plan to try to pass aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan that’s been tied up in a political fight in Washington for months — but will the move cost him his job? Johnson’s laid out a proposal to split the $95 billion foreign aid package passed by the Senate into three separate bills, one for each country, and a fourth bill loaded with conservative priorities. Johnson spoke with President Joe Biden on Monday before unveiling his plan to his conference. But Johnson’s approach is already causing more rancor with the right flank of his party, as a second member said Tuesday he would join Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s motion to remove him from the speaker post (ABC). Citizen Free Press: Speaker Johnson is defiant in the face of new calls for him to vacate the Speakership: “I am not resigning and it is in my view an absurd notion that someone would bring a vacate motion when we are simply here trying to do our jobs” (X).

Surviving Attendees of the Music Festival During October 7 Attack Have Not Yet Recovered, 50 Committed Suicide
I24News: Following the Hamas-led massacre at the Nova Music Festival on October 7, about fifty survivors have committed suicide, revealed Guy Ben Shimon. Ben Shimon, a survivor of the massacre, spoke on Tuesday at a Parliamentary hearing for a State Audit Commission on the treatment of the survivors of October 7.  “Few people know, but there have been almost 50 suicides among the Nova survivors. This number, which was true two months ago, may have increased since,” Ben Shimon said, emphasizing that many of his friends who escaped the massacre could not recover from what they had experienced. “There are many survivors who had to be forcibly hospitalized due to their psychological state. My friends are not getting out of bed, neither am I,” he described their condition since the October 7 attack. During the Hamas-led attack, 364 people were brutally murdered at the Nova Music Festival. According to recent studies, 600,000 Israelis were awaiting psychological support since October 7 (I24News).
