John,
The mainstream news media has continuously given Trump a ‘free pass’ to use extremist, hateful rhetoric.
Trump recently “vowed to implement ‘ideological screening’ for migrants, saying he’d turn away anyone who doesn’t like ‘our religion’; claimed migrants are ‘poisoning the blood of our country’; and complimented the terrorist group Hezbollah as ‘very smart.” Time and time again, major news networks give him a platform to spew these hateful, untrue statements unchecked.
Add your name if you agree: we cannot become desensitized to Trump’s dangerous hate speech. We must call him out and stop giving him a platform.
It’s clear that our news networks are looking to promote sensationalism and get views and clicks, rather than debunk Trump’s lies or denounce his hate speech.
By doing this, they’re fueling his attention-seeking and validating his hateful rhetoric. Platforming Trump so recklessly is a direct danger to American democracy. Our media must become more responsible.
Sign our petition to the major TV news networks: Call Trump out for his hateful rhetoric – stop giving him a free pass. Protecting our democracy is more important than any amount of views or clicks.
