Earlier today, Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland presented Budget 2024, our Liberal plan to deliver fairness for every generation.

And Pierre Poilievre has already said his Conservatives will not support our plan.

That means they’ll be voting against:

- Making Canada’s tax system more fair by asking the wealthiest to pay their fair share
- Unlocking 3.87 million new homes by 2031
- Leveling the playing field for renters by making it easier to use rental history to qualify for a mortgage, protecting renters against rising rent payments, renovictions, or bad landlords through the Tenant Protection Fund, and ensuring fair pricing and nationwide leasing standards with the Canadian Renters’ Bill of Rights
- Launching a National School Food Program to provide nutritious meals in school to 400,000 more kids every year
- Creating more $10-a-day child care spaces as we train and attract more educators – especially in rural and remote communities
- Creating the Youth Mental Health Fund to ensure young Canadians have access to the support they need right in their communities
- Investing in AI to create good-paying jobs, encourage innovation in our economy, raise productivity and accelerate growth
Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team are delivering real progress for Canadians. But given the chance, Pierre Poilievre and his Conservatives would cut investments in housing, cut affordable child care, cut taxes for the rich, cut our climate plan and roll back all the progress we’re making together.
