Team,
In 2021, Michael fought to pass the American Rescue Plan, which increased the size of the Child Tax Credit and made it available to more working families with kids.
The expanded Child Tax Credit was an undeniable success. It cut childhood poverty in the United States nearly in half, and benefitted over 60 million children across the country, including 1 million kids in Colorado.
After six months, Republicans in Congress let this expanded version of the Child Tax Credit expire. Since then, the child poverty rate has more than doubled, and five million children have been forced back into poverty.
Tax Day is a reminder of the work left to do to make our tax code work for everyone, not just those at the very top.
Michael won’t give up on making sure more working families can receive the Child Tax Credit. We can end child poverty and build an economy that works for everyone — and it’s policies like these that will get us there.
Will you sign on to show your support for permanently expanding the Child Tax Credit so we can help millions of children across the country?
